Carrier is powered by Wormhole, an interoperability protocol that allows projects to build on top of its generic message-passing layer.

When bridging on Carrier, the original tokens are locked in a smart contract on Wormhole’s protocol, and the user receives wrapped tokens minted on the destination chain. Think of wrapped tokens as a synthetic version of the original token on a non-native blockchain.
